Unabridged means to be the most complete of its class. Genius means a strong leaning or inclination; exceptional intellectual or creative power. Geniuses are not exclusively found in the classroom. Most are unlettered. The thematic “Journal of Unabridged Genius: JUG” is poised to be a source for dynamic, innovative, intellectual and creative research on African-American, African world and ALANA experiences. ALANA stands for African, Latino, Asian and Native American. Its primary contributors are academics (those within the education arena) and pracademics (practitioners outside of education).
Its first issue was January 2009. It is available online 24/7, with semi-annual themes and regular updates.
"Every six months the journal has a different theme and contributors are able to submit their works online to any of these themes they wish to at any time. This is cutting edge. In addition there are two blogs for less formal exchanges. These interactive, distinctive features allow scholars to contribute at any time to past and current issues.
